Tullow Ghana Embarks on Two-Year Drilling Program in Jubilee Field

Tullow Ghana and its partners have announced the exciting news of the restart of drilling operations in the Jubilee Field, signifying a new phase of investment and confidence in Ghana’s energy future. This two-year drilling programme, set to commence in May, aims to enhance oil production and operational efficiency in one of West Africa’s strategic oil fields.
The decision to begin this campaign comes on the heels of the successful completion of Tullow’s previous four-year drilling programme in December 2024. During this time, 18 new wells were delivered ahead of schedule and under budget, showcasing efficiency, safety, and disciplined cost management.
The upcoming drilling campaign will unfold in phases, starting this May and continuing throughout 2026. With a track record of high performance, Tullow is poised to elevate drilling management to new heights during this project.
Tullow Ghana’s Managing Director, Jean-Médard Madama, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This is an exciting moment for us. The restart of drilling reflects another milestone in our journey in Ghana and demonstrates our confidence in the country’s resource base. Despite the maturing of the Jubilee Field, we are confident in its ability to deliver value for our shareholders, partners, and the people of Ghana.”
Although the Jubilee Field is entering a mature phase, it remains a crucial source of production and revenue for key stakeholders in the sector. The new drilling campaign aims to unlock further value, building upon the recent maintenance activity at the field to upgrade operations and minimize risks.
As Tullow Ghana embarks on this two-year drilling programme, the company is poised to make significant strides in boosting oil production and operational efficiency in the Jubilee Field, solidifying its position as a key player in Ghana’s energy
