Mahama inaugurates Police Council

After a successful ceremony held at the Jubilee House, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has officially inaugurated the governing council of the Ghana Police Service. This move, in accordance with Article 201 of the 1992 Constitution, signals a strong commitment to ensuring the professionalism and accountability of the Police Service.
Leading the council as its Chairperson is the Vice President of Ghana, H. E. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. The council includes esteemed members such as Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior, and Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Minister of Justice and Attorney General. The council is also comprised of high-ranking members of the Police Service including IGP Cristian Tetteh-Yohuno and COP Rtd. Nathan Kofi Boakye.
President Mahama stressed the importance of the Police Council in addressing key issues within the Police Service such as promotions, seniority, postings, and general concerns. By ensuring that the Police Service remains professional, fair, and transparent, the council plays a crucial role in maintaining the trust and confidence of the people.
