Koo Fori pleads not guilty to $50,000 fraud charge, granted GH₵320,000 bail

Koo Fori, the popular actor known for his role in the Efiewura television series, has found himself at the center of a legal battle. Accused of defrauding Dr. Emy Oduro-Burton of $50,000, Koo Fori recently pleaded not guilty to the charge of defrauding by false pretenses.
Despite the serious allegations against him, Koo Fori has been granted bail in the sum of GH₵320,000 with three sureties to be justified. The Court also ordered him to deposit his Ghana Card at the Registry of the court and report to the police once a month. The matter has been adjourned to June 25, 2025, with prosecution instructed to file their disclosures for a Case Management Conference.
Koo Fori’s defense counsel argued that he is not a flight risk and has a fixed place of abode in Nungua, ensuring that he will appear to stand trial. The defense also highlighted that the accused had already made partial payments towards the plot of land in question, leaving a balance of $15,000.
It is alleged that Koo Fori paid GH₵170,000 to a witness in the case who was the rightful owner of the land. However, upon inspection, Dr. Oduro-Burton discovered that the land was only worth GH₵170,000 for a half plot, not the $50,000 paid by Koo Fori.
Despite the legal proceedings, Koo Fori maintains his innocence and is prepared to face trial to prove his case. The unfolding drama in this case serves as a reminder that even well-known personalities can find themselves entangled in legal troubles.
As the court process continues, all eyes will be on Koo Fori as he navigates his way through this $50,000 fraud charge. Stay tuned for updates on this intriguing legal
