In a significant victory for law enforcement, a notorious five-member robbery gang responsible for two major attacks in the Greater Accra Region has been apprehended, convicted, and sentenced to prison. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr. Duuti Tuaruka, Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, announced the successful breakthrough in a press briefing on Monday.
The gang, led by Isaac Agbezudor and Justice Akwasi Sarfo Oppong, carried out daring robberies at Jos Bakery in Dome and ACP Junction near Kwabenya. The brazen criminals used weapons and intimidation to carry out their heinous acts, causing fear and harm to innocent victims.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the police force, Agbezudor and Oppong were swiftly brought to justice. Through meticulous investigations and targeted operations, the culprits were tracked down, arrested, and put on trial. Both Agbezudor and Oppong were found guilty in court and handed down significant prison sentences for their crimes.
But the justice didn’t stop there. The police continued their relentless pursuit of justice, leading to the capture and conviction of Bright Alikor, Emmanuel Nii Odartey Lamptey, and Prince Owusu, who were accomplices in the robbery at ACP Junction. These individuals, involved in a violent attack on a female victim, were also sentenced to prison terms for their despicable actions.
