Ghana Secures $2.6m Japanese Grant for Human Resource Development Scholarship

Ghana has recently secured a significant grant of 420 million Japanese Yen, equivalent to $2.6 million, for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship. The Exchange of Notes on Japanese Grant Assistance was signed by the Ghanaian Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Embassy of Japan, solidifying their commitment to supporting education and capacity building in Ghana.
The Japanese Development Scholarship (JDS) program has been instrumental in providing quality education opportunities for Ghanaian students since its inception in 2012. With this new grant, even more students will have the chance to further their studies and contribute to the development of their country.
Mr Ramses Joseph Cleland, Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed his gratitude for the generous support from the Japanese government. He emphasized the importance of investing in human resource development to ensure a prosperous future for Ghana.
