Government to introduce HPV vaccination among adolescent girls

This exciting announcement was made by Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, who emphasized the importance of providing long-lasting protection against cervical cancer for young girls in the country.
During the launch of the 2025 Child Health Promotion Week and the African Vaccination Week in Accra, Dr. Hafiz Adam Taher read out the Minister’s speech, outlining the government’s commitment to improving the health of its citizens. The introduction of the HPV vaccination is a significant step towards achieving this goal, as cervical cancer is a leading cause of death among women in Ghana.

The Ministry of Health, GHS, and their partners are working tirelessly to ensure that the HPV vaccination program is implemented successfully.
